Definitely cake–I love everything about it from baking to decorating, though it is not my favorite dessert to eat!
Do you still sell your cakes?
No! While I do make the occasional wedding cake, my baking efforts are mainly for the blog these days!

How did you get into baking?
There’s no concrete story here, every Christmas my mom baked cakes in the shape of little Christmas trees for all of my school teachers as a thank you. Every summer I would bake peanut butter cookies (still one of my favorite desserts) and rice krispy treats with my grandma. But the general gist is this–I absolutely love working with my hands. To me, it gives me a deeper sense of appreciation and connection in this life. I’ve always considered myself somewhat of an artist, and over time I found that mixing flavors and decorating desserts is my medium.
What or who inspires you as a baker?
Absolutely everything. I see a pattern on a dress and think “that would make an awesome cake design,” I’ll taste a new drink and say to myself “let’s experiment with these flavors in a dessert.” Aside from this my uncle is a fantastic chef and a baker and has supported my dream from the moment I expressed interest. He inspires me a ton.
